Sarah Hamilton is a pianist based in southeast Michigan. She performs frequently with various soloists and ensembles, and especially enjoys working with students. She is currently the pianist for the Brighton High School choirs and orchestra, Walled Lake United Methodist Church, the Livingston County Youth Choir, and the Premier Big Band.

Throughout her career Sarah has enjoyed some unique musical opportunities. A few notable performances have been at the Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt, Austria; the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin, Germany; and with the National Collegiate Wind Ensemble at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Although Sarah specializes in accompanying, she also has extensive experience performing 4-hand piano and piano duet music. She always looks forward to working with other pianists, and was the featured performer on the Four Hands With Friends concerts that ran at Eastern Michigan University for 4 years.

Performing and teaching are both important to Sarah, and she maintains a small studio of piano students at her home as well as the EMU Community Music Academy. She is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association and was a 2020 teacher enrichment grant recipient. She currently serves on the state board of the Michigan Music Teachers Association as the Student Achievement program coordinator, and has presented twice at the MMTA state conference.

Sarah holds degrees from Oakland Community College, Michigan State University, and Eastern Michigan University where she completed her Master of Music studying piano with Garik Pedersen. Her first piano teacher and main musical influence was Jose Garcia-Leon, and she has also studied with Derek Kealii Polischuk.  Sarah lives in Novi and enjoys spending free time with friends and family, swimming, and of course practicing.
