Nicole Barrett

Nicole Barrett was born and raised in Big Rapids, Michigan, where she began piano lessons and joined her school choir at age seven. In high school, Nicole participated in select vocal ensembles and had lead roles in numerous theatrical productions. While earning her teaching degree at Central Michigan University, Nicole found a passion for a cappella and vocal percussion, and has been singing and beatboxing in a cappella ensembles ever since 2007 (On the Rox, Two Weeks Notice, The Seekers, Afterglow, Decibelles, and Maskera). Nicole joined the Livingston County Women’s Chorus in the fall of 2017, and has also performed with the Ladies First select ensemble.

Nicole has been an elementary educator for thirteen years, and currently teaches first grade at Challenger Elementary in Howell. Music is an integral component of Nicole’s classroom, and she promotes learning through the use of singing, piano, and guitar. Nicole became the assistant director of the Livingston County Youth Choir in the fall of 2023
