The Livingston County Choirs is pleased to announce our upcoming vocal scholarship competition for high school students in grades 10-12. This competition provides an opportunity for aspiring and talented young vocalists to acquire financial scholarships intended to further their music studies. DR. MARILYN S. JONES VOCAL SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION

The deadline for applications is January 29, 2021.
Three Scholarships will be awarded:
First Place $1000 Dr. Marilyn S. Jones Memorial Scholarship
Second Place $500 Harper C. and Virginia C. Maybee Memorial Scholarship
Third Place $300 Rose and Kenneth Shultz Memorial Scholarship
Requirements for applicants are as follows:
Applicant must be a sophomore, junior or senior student, who is in good academic standing, attends a high school located in Livingston County, or resides in Livingston County. First place winners from prior years are ineligible.
Each applicant will need a satisfactory recommendation from his/her choir director or vocal teacher.
Each applicant will perform a musical selection comparable to music prepared for MSVMA Solo and Ensemble Festival. Please limit selection to approximately 3 minutes.
The competition will be limited to 20 students.

Founded in 1991, the Livingston County Chorale has established as its mission to enrich the lives of area residents through varied, enjoyable choral performances; to fulfill the musical needs of singers interested in high quality choral music; to provide educational and outreach opportunities in vocal music; and to provide an opportunity for the community to support cultural activities.
