Manon Dean

Choirs: Youth Choir

Manon Dean was born and raised in The Netherlands, where she developed a passion for music at a young age. At age 12 she joined the Kleijnkoor choir and fell in love with singing with others. With the choir she performed in The Netherlands, France and Ireland, where she played the lead role of Ti Moune in the musical “Once On This Island.” After many years of voice, guitar and piano lessons, she majored in pop/vocals at a Dutch music college. While studying, she started teaching group- and private voice lessons. Besides being a vocal coach, she worked as a performing and recording artist and sang background vocals for several Dutch artists.

Manon moved to the US in 2015, where she joined the Salem State Women’s Chorus in Salem, Massachusetts and the Schoolcraft Chorale in Livonia, Michigan. After settling in Brighton, she joined the Livingston County Women’s Choir in 2018. She was also a part of two ensembles, Decibelles and Ladies First. She is currently a member of pop a capella group MaskEra. Manon has been the Youth Choir assistant director since 2019 and is excited to be director this semester!
