Brendan Closz

Assistant Director, Chorale

Brendan grew up in Muskegon, Michigan. He attended Western Michigan University, graduating in 2009 with a Music Education Degree.  Following graduation, Brendan worked as a studio teacher, dividing his time between Kalamazoo and Muskegon. In 2011 Brendan returned to WMU to further his study in conducting under Dr. Kimberly Dunn-Adams. Brendan received his Masters Degree in 2013. Over the last several years, Brendan has taught in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and is currently the Director of Choirs for Howell High School.

Brendan has performed all over Europe including singing engagements in Italy, Hungry, Bulgaria, and the British Isles. Stateside, he has performed several opera and musical roles at WMU as well as serving as a ‘ringer’ for Opera Naples production of Eugene Onyegan.

Brendan is excited to join the Livingston County Choral for this season as Assistant Director. He is looking forward to making beautiful music with this group of fantastic people.
